We have received a few reports of users unable to connect their iom2 to a Windows 10 or Windows 7 machine.
If your iom2 is connected to your PC and the iom2 display reads "USB connected. Launch Journey on computer" and you have launched a Journey but it does not recognize the iom2, this article might be for you!
It has been determined that this connectivity issue is due to certain files missing from your installation of Windows that are necessary for USB connectivity to function with certain apps (ours being one of them!). It could have perhaps been uninstalled with the removal of certain programs.
To determine if this is in fact the case, please check if these files are included in your list of installed applications:
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable x86
- Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 Redistributable x64
To access this list, search "apps and features" in the Start menu.
If these files are not there, you can install them through this link on the Microsoft support site:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3179560/update-for-visual-c-2013-and-visual-c-redistributable-package
There are two files that need to be installed, you will see two lists on this page - one for x86 and one for x64.
Install the English version of both.
Perform a restart of your computer and you should now be able to enjoy your Unyte Journeys!
If the issue persists, please contact us at support@unyte.com and we will be happy to assist further.
